Perlite is a porous product of mineral origin, so it can absorb water and minerals. On the other hand, perlite itself is an inert medium, meaning it neither receives nor supplies the plant with any nutrients. As a result, many growers find it an ideal medium for growing in hydroponic systems.
Advantages of perlite:

- Loosens the soil and increases its air circulation.
- Accumulates heat, which accelerates plant vegetation.
Tip:
For potted plants, the proportion of perlite in the soil can be 30% by volume.
